POSITION OVERVIEW

Reporting directly to the Vice President of Strategy, the Business Development Director will play a pivotal role in shaping S.I.M.’s growth. Overseeing both the Business Development and Marketing teams, you will strengthen supplier partnerships, identify new business opportunities, and spearhead strategic initiatives.

In this dynamic role, you will lead the Business Development team in sourcing and cultivating supplier relationships, uncovering innovative products, and launching new projects that expand market share. You will also guide the Marketing team in crafting impactful customer campaigns, developing marketing materials, and analyzing key industry trends.

Collaboration is key—you will work cross-functionally with Sales, Supply Chain, and R&D teams to fuel innovation and drive growth. With at least 10 years of experience, primarily in the food industry, the ideal candidate will be strongly-motivated, a results-driven leader, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

JOB DESCRIPTIONS

  • Supplier Management: Lead and oversee a Business Development team serving as the main point of contact for suppliers on business issues, ensuring the development of strong supplier relationships. Take responsibility for performance KPIs with suppliers. Oversee and coordinate supplier visits to the office, helping to ensure mutually productive visits. Work with internal teams such as Supply Chain to address supplier concerns and continually improve S.I.M.’s partnerships with suppliers.
  • New Pipeline Developments: Identify and build a pipeline of new business opportunities that solve customer needs and meet company objectives. Organize and work with Sales and R&D teams to execute on these potential opportunities and effectively market these concepts to customers. Lead the Marketing team in organizing innovation campaigns for customers and staying on top of industry trends and developments.
  • Supplier Sourcing: Source relationships with new and back-up suppliers to help meet emerging customer needs and to grow and strengthen S.I.M.’s product offerings.
  • Reporting and Analytics Leadership: Ensure timely and accurate reports and analyses for suppliers and internal use cases. Guide Marketing and Business Development teams in tracking and maintaining accurate information on the landscape of existing and new suppliers, industry trends, and other competitive data in order to fuel data-driven decisions.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or a related field.
  • A minimum of 10+ years of experience within the in a Food/Ingredients space and preferably in Business Development, Sales or related roles.
  • Excellent communication, project management, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong presentation skills and comfortable leading meetings with customers.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Fluent in speaking, reading, and writing in English.

8:00 am – 5:00 pm (T2 – T6)

8:00 am – 12:00 pm (T7 – if required)
